The WMRC provides a broad range of services, which are confidential and available to the public free of charge. The services include:
Individualised Services:
The following is a summary of the individualized services that are available to individuals and families and include targeted services to youth, women and the elderly:
Counselling and information services
Referral to appropriate community service providers
Advice, information and assistance with immigration matters
Advice, information, assistance and referral services with such matters as
housing, health, educational and welfare issues
Emergency financial assistance (limited)
Community-focused services:
Community education and awareness-raising on issues concerning migrant and refugee resettlement needs and access to community resources and services.
Training in cross-cultural issues for community service providers.
Community development activities aimed at assisting community groups and organizations to become self-sustaining.
Providing amenities, resources and support to community groups in order to enable them to participate in the life of the community.
Advocacy on behalf of, or jointly with, community groups and organizations in response to identified areas of need.
Advice and consultancy services for community groups and individual community workers and service providers.
English Classes:
