Preface

The aim of this directory is to assist and inform the migrant and refugee in the western metropolitan region of Melbourne- specifically- Hobsons Bay and Wyndham- about the services that are available.

According to number of studies, Migrant and refugee suffer from high level of Isolation because of many reasons such as lack of information about the services that are available in their area, languages barriers and many other reasons.

This directory is wishing to be a useful resource for the newly arrived migrant and refugee, in providing information and contacts of the services that are vital to them.

I would like to thank my colleagues at MRC Altona and Werribee for their continuous support and encouragement. Especial thanks to Fawzia, the ex administration officer for the preliminary work that she has completed and I found it very useful to use.
